It is a pretty....sweet.....word.
It is my word for 2010.
My being.
The exercise of love, kindness, mercy, favor; disposition to benefit or serve another; favor bestowed or privilege conferred
grace (grās)
Seemingly effortless beauty or charm of movement, form, or proportion.
A characteristic or quality pleasing for its charm or refinement.
A sense of fitness or propriety.
A disposition to be generous or helpful; goodwill.
Mercy; clemency.
Divine love and protection bestowed freely on people.
The state of being protected or sanctified by the favor of God.
An excellence or power granted by God.
A favor rendered by one who need not do so; indulgence.
A temporary immunity or exemption; a reprieve.

I want to have grace in my words, in my smile, in my heart, in my soul. When I walk, when I talk, when I create and when I look into the eyes of others. I want people to see and feel my grace. And more than anything....feeling grace.....the "unmerited favor" of God. That is divine grace.
I want people to see my "grace" and ask me about it. I have alot to say.....and do.
God gives grace to those that give grace (Matt 6:4).

What is your word for 2010??

  1. I may have to steal yours...but that wouldn't be very gracious would it? Beautiful post and beautiful word and so true. I remember reading somewhere that each of us may be the only Bible some folks ever's important that they see the peace that only comes from God's grace and perhaps seek it for themself. Wouldn't that be a blessing?

  2. I love the word "Grace". So much so that it's the middle name I gave my first born daughter, Victoria (now 13 - almost 14 yr. old)

I truly enjoy reading your blog and am glad to see you posting frequently since I check daily! :)

I don't have a word for 2010, the only thing that comes to mind right now is "patience" because my 10 yr. old daughter is not listening to me as I told her to get into bed! I'll have to give choosing a theme word some more thought.

Your word is beautiful and from what you've written about your day to day life, I think "Grace" will genuinely shine through in you. Good luck on your path!!
